Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trek

The Ghorepani & Poon Hill Trek is one of the most popular short trekking adventures in the Annapurna region. Despite its moderate duration, it offers some of the finest Himalayan scenery in Nepal. Beginning from Nayapul near Pokhara, the trail passes through terraced fields, subtropical forests, and traditional villages inhabited by Gurung and Magar communities.

The highlight of this trek is the early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m), one of Nepal’s best viewpoints for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. As the first light strikes the peaks of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri, the landscape glows with golden hues, a view that stays etched forever in memory.

This trek is perfect for those seeking a taste of Himalayan beauty and culture without the challenges of high altitude or long trekking days. It is accessible, family-friendly, and can be enjoyed year-round, particularly during spring and autumn.
