The Annapurna Circuit Trek is Nepal’s most classic long- distance adventure, a complete loop around the Annapurna range that showcases the full spectrum of Himalayan beauty and culture. Beginning in the fertile lowlands near Besisahar, the trail climbs gradually through terraced farmlands, dense pine forests, and river gorges carved by the Marsyangdi River.
As the journey progresses, trekkers reach the high- altitude desert of Manang, where Tibetan- influenced culture flourishes beneath towering peaks. The crossing of Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) marks the physical and emotional high point of the trek, offering awe-inspiring 360° views of Annapurna II, III, Gangapurna, and Dhaulagiri.
Descending into the Kali Gandaki Valley, the landscape changes again, barren cliffs give way to apple orchards, ancient monasteries, and the windswept plains of Jomsom and Muktinath. The journey concludes in Pokhara, where the serenity of Phewa Lake contrasts beautifully with the adventure just completed.
