Kami Rita Sherpa is a renowned Nepali mountaineer known for holding the record for the most ascents of Mount Everest, having reached its summit 31 times as of 2025. Born in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal, he comes from a family of climbers and has been a guiding figure in the Himalayan mountaineering community. In addition to Everest, he has climbed several other major peaks like Lhotse and Cho Oyu, K2, Manaslu and many notable peaks. Kami Rita is celebrated for his strength, endurance, and his contributions to safe mountaineering, while advocating for the welfare of the Sherpa community.
