Overview

The Manaslu Base Camp Trek is an unforgettable journey that takes you deep into the heart of Nepal’s central Himalayas, beneath the towering shadow of Mount Manaslu (8,163 m). Unlike the full circuit, this route focuses on the pure essence of Manaslu: stunning mountain views, traditional culture, and the peaceful energy of remote Buddhist villages.

Beginning with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, the trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River, weaving through terraced fields, dense bamboo forests, and traditional Gurung hamlets. As you gradually climb higher, the landscapes shift from lush valleys to rugged alpine terrain where the air grows thinner, and prayer flags flutter above every ridge.

The highlight of the trek is the day hike from Sama Gaon to Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m);  a breathtaking climb offering panoramic views of Manaslu, Naike Peak, and the surrounding glaciers. Few trails in Nepal feel as intimate and serene; it’s a place where the mountains speak softly, and the stillness of nature inspires deep reflection.

Culturally, the region preserves a timeless Tibetan heritage. Villagers greet you with warm smiles, mani walls line the trail, and ancient monasteries like Ribung Gompa remind you that spirituality runs through every aspect of life here. The trek lies within the Manaslu Conservation Area, home to rare wildlife such as the Himalayan tahr, blue sheep, and snow leopard.

Led by the world-record-holding Kami Rita Sherpa and his trusted team, this trek blends adventure with safety and cultural authenticity. Every step is guided by experts who know these mountains by heart — making your experience not just a trek, but a personal Himalayan journey.
